Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
We are living in a troubled world. Every day news headlines blare out another tragic natural disaster like the tornado that recently hit Joplin, Missouri.
What is even more tragic are the spiritual storms that believers face on a regular basis.
When God brings individuals or families into our lives that are in need, God is aware of what they lack. Many times He has already provided for us the answer they require. How good are we at spiritual burden bearing? Do you remember the Biblical account of the “Good Samaritan” and how the religious leaders wanted no part in helping the man who had been beaten and robbed? His “burden bearer” was a hated Samaritan. But the natural enemy cared for his wounds and paid for a place where he count recuperate.
When we find ourselves in similar circumstances we should accept the event as an invitation from God to become burden bearers. It could happen with a workmate, a neighbor, a family member or even the person sitting next to you in church. It could very well be that the special blessing God gave to us is nothing more something to pass on to another person in need. Let us ask God to open our spiritual eyes to those who are carrying great spiritual burdens. Then ask Him for the grace to become a spiritual burden bearer.
